1 on 1 Pilates are Individual sessions l to improve confidence, stability, strength, control and mobility when moving. In the personalised sessions we work towards your goal, improve body awareness + posture,  increase flexibility, spinal rotation and joint mobility.

3 on 1 Pilates Group Sessions

Small Personalised 3 on 1 Pilates sessions work on improving confidence, stability, strength, control and mobility when moving with the support of your tribe (friends, family or team mates).

The history of Pilates 

Pilates was developed in the 1880’s by Joseph Pilates focusing on “Contrology” and the importance of using the intrinsic core muscles (deep abdominal muscles- Transverse Abdominus, Pelvic Floor + Multifidis) teaching his students how to lightly contract these core muscles during activity. The principles Pilates taught were worked on during every class and carried on into each student's everyday life; Relaxation, Concentration, Alignment, Centering, Breathing, Co-ordination, Flowing Movements, Balance and Stamina. Pilates involves light, no-impact exercises that work on improving Postural awareness, increase core strength, improved balance, mobility and coordination and assist in injury prevention.

What should I expect in my first Pilates session?

It depends on the individual because Pilates is easily adaptable to each person, the instructor is able to modify each movement to suit differing abilities. Sessions are broken down using simple movement sequences. If you have chronic back pain, recovering from an injury or you are pregnant, a 1 on 1 Pilates session would best suit you to assess your situation.

What do I start with?

It is recommended that you start with a 1 on1 Pilates session so that you and the instructor can learn about your body together. As there are a lot of new wording cues to learn, plus the use of smaller muscles groups you may never knew you had and it can be surprising how challenging it may be to build up your strength.

What do I need to know for my first session?

Please arrive 10 minutes early to your first session. This will allow you time to familiarise yourself with the studio, meet your instructor and settle in. If you’re late you may not be able to train and please no mobile phone during class to be respectful of others and yourself.

What should I wear to Pilates?

Something you are able to move freely in- like tights, leggings or shorts with either a t-shirt or singlet top. No shoes required with your preference of socks or bare feet.

Do I need to be fit to attend Pilates?

Absolutely not!

Pilates is suited to every one, with the choice of 1 on 1, 3 on 1 and group classes with a maximum of 6 people our instructors can modify any movement to accommodate each individual's ability and needs, while at the same time allowing other clients to work at their own pace.

How many people to a class?

With a maximum of 6 clients per class, these small personalised groups allow the instructor to focus on each individual needs to achieve maximum benefit.

Can I transfer or share sessions?

Session pack cannot be shared with more that one person as all session packs are for the individual's use only.
